Uber expands grocery delivery across the Midwest
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Uber has rolled out another significant partnership in its grocery delivery domain, teaming up with popular Midwest grocery chain, Hy-Vee. This collaboration will bolster Uber Eats' grocery lineup across eight states: Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
Over 260 Hy-Vee grocery and liquor locations will now be accessible via Uber and Uber Eats platforms. As tailgating season draws near, Midwest residents can conveniently get their favorite Hy-Vee items, ranging from delicious baked goods to fresh produce, delivered directly to their homes.
Hy-Vee's President, Aaron Wiese, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration. "Uber Eats has been growing in popularity among many of our customers, making this partnership a win-win for both parties," Wiese said. "This launch allows us another avenue to offer our products and best serve the needs of our shoppers."
To mark this new venture, and in honor of Uber Eats' three-year anniversary as the NFL's official on-demand food delivery partner, a special sweepstakes is being launched for Uber Eats users ordering from Hy-Vee outlets. Customers can relish a 50% discount (up to $40) on their first order of $50 or more (before taxes and fees). Additionally, they get a golden opportunity to enter the Uber Eats 2023 NFL Kickoff Tickets sweepstakes. The grand prize? Tickets to the 2023 NFL Kickoff on September 7, 2023, all thanks to Uber Eats. Not to forget, couriers too stand a chance to grab this exclusive Kickoff experience.
Uber One members, meanwhile, continue to reap their regular benefits — zero delivery charges and a 5% discount on Hy-Vee orders worth $35 or more.
"Hy-Vee is a beloved hometown brand, and we're thrilled to welcome them onto Uber Eats," remarked Christian Freese, Uber's Head of Grocery and New Verticals across the US & Canada. "Together we know we can make it easier than ever to have groceries and alcohol items delivered on-demand to doorsteps across the Midwest—and we're especially excited to be offering both consumers and couriers across the region the chance to attend one of the hottest kickoff games of the NFL season."
This partnership is yet another feather in Uber's cap, as it has continually expanded its grocery category since its introduction in July 2020. Collaborations with key players like Albertsons Companies, Meijer, Kroger, SpartanNash, and Grocery Outlet have solidified Uber's standing in the US grocery delivery market. Its diverse offerings, spanning from prepared food to groceries, convenience items, alcohol, and retail, are now available in over 30 countries. Globally, a whopping 130 million users lean on Uber's platform each month, underlining its prowess in meeting contemporary consumer delivery needs.
