Chicago’s Sidetrack hosts weeklong DNC celebration events

CHICAGO, IL - As the Democratic National Committee (DNC) descends on Chicago, the city’s iconic LGBTQ+ bar, Sidetrack, is rolling out a weeklong series of events to celebrate and engage attendees. The Halsted Street hotspot has crafted a lineup of gatherings that blend politics, pop culture, and vibrant nightlife, creating an inclusive space for both locals and visitors.

The festivities kick off on Sunday, August 18, with a Welcome to Chicago DNC party, featuring a special Sunday Funday After Dark. The event begins at 9 PM and is open to the general public after a private engagement earlier in the evening.

Monday, August 19, continues the celebration with another Welcome to Chicago DNC event. However, note that Sidetrack will remain closed to the general public that day due to a private function, with the popular Musical Monday returning on August 26.

Tuesday brings a fun twist with Trivia Tuesday: Charli XCX/Kamala Brat Summer Edition, starting at 8 PM. Trivia enthusiasts can expect questions and themes inspired by pop sensation Charli XCX and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Midweek, the bar transforms into a shrine for Little Monsters with All Things Gaga on Wednesday, August 21, celebrating the music and artistry of Lady Gaga. The event runs from 9 PM to 2 AM.

The week culminates on Thursday, August 22, with a DNC Finale Night Watch Party from 7 PM to 10 PM. Guests can watch the headline speeches with sound, followed by All Things Kpop: Girl Groups Edition and rooftop deck party music to close out the night in style.

Sidetrack’s DNC week offers a perfect blend of political engagement and community celebration, making it a must-visit for anyone in Chicago during this pivotal moment in the Democratic Party’s calendar.
