Bucktown Arts Fest returns this weekend

CHICAGO, IL - The Bucktown Arts Fest returns this weekend, August 24-25, 2024, bringing an array of creativity and community spirit to Chicago's Holstein Park. This beloved neighborhood tradition, which began in the 1980s with just four local artists, has blossomed into a major cultural event, drawing approximately 30,000 attendees annually.

The festival is entirely volunteer-run and remains proudly free of corporate sponsorship. All proceeds support arts education within the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods, making it not just a celebration of art but a contributor to the community’s cultural enrichment.

This year's event will feature over 200 artists showcasing works across various mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, and jewelry. Attendees can also enjoy live performances on two stages, featuring a wide range of musical genres from indie rock to jazz. Highlights include local favorites like Magenta Sunshine, Environmental Encroachment, and The Do-Rights, ensuring there's something for everyone.

For families, the festival offers a dedicated Kids' Tent with "Make & Take" art activities, allowing younger attendees to engage in the creative process. Food vendors will be on-site, providing a variety of treats to keep festival-goers fueled as they explore the art and music.

The Bucktown Arts Fest runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days, and admission is free. Whether you're a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, this event offers a fantastic opportunity to experience the vibrant local arts scene and support a good cause.
