1) University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana, IL)

Located in Champaign-Urbana, co-founder of Netscape and venture capitalist Marc Andreessen calls this school an alma mater, "the Illinois CS undergraduate program is ranked 5th by U.S. News & World Report, last ranked in 2020. The Illinois CS graduate program is ranked 5th by U.S. News & World Report, last ranked in 2018. There are 18 Illinois CS degree programs and more than 90 courses in computer science."


2) University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, MI)

According the the well respected source for college rankings, US News, University of Michigan Ann Arbor is nationally ranked 7th Graduate Engineering School in 2022, 5th Graduate Program in Computer Engineering in 2022, 7th Undergraduate Program in Computer Engineering in 2021, 10th Best Global Universities for Computer Science.

3) University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI)

Located in Wisconsin state's capitol, "UW–Madison’s undergraduate computer science program ranked 16th overall [a 4-way tie] and 8th [a 3-way tie] among public universities.
